Experience
I believe that education is important for everyone, and I use my role as an educator to help others find success in their education. I have found that I enjoy making connections from the study material to everyday life so that students can better relate to the topics. I feel that it also helps students to be more interested and to better retain knowledge when they are able to place themselves in the material and see the relevance in what they are learning. I enjoy finding new ways to teach topics to students who are struggling in Math and also enjoy tutoring students in their standardized test preparation. I received my bachelor's degree in General Education, Psychology, and Special Education from the University of Hawaii. I have since been employed as a teacher in various grades, courses, and schools. I spent two years teaching Special Education for first grade through third grade in Hawaii. After which, I relocated to Arizona, and I am currently teaching fourth grade in a Queen Creek charter school. Outside of the academic world, I enjoy playing sports (swimming, soccer, running, and volleyball), playing video games, reading, and traveling.
